MEET CAPTAIN ROB

I have been fishing my whole life, starting in Miami where I grew up. My father use to take me fishing on the flats in our 16’ boat where we would catch bonefish, snapper and sharks. When I was about 8, he got a 20’ boat that was large enough to take in the ocean where we could start targeting bigger game fish like Dolphin and Sailfish. I knew right away that I was hooked and that I was meant to be a fisherman.

As a teenager I got miscellaneous jobs on drift boats and helping on other charter boats where I was able to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience.

I moved to Boynton Beach in 1992, where I began to learn in detail, the waters of Palm Beach County.

Having fished numerous tournaments from the Keys to the Bahamas, winning a few and placing in many, it is charter fishing that I truly enjoy.

Whether you are looking to fish for the hundredth time or for the first time, We at TunaTime would love the opportunity to take you and I look forward to meeting you.

MEET CAPTAIN J.J. Brodbeck

Like Capt. Rob, I am a South Florida native.  I grew up in Boca Raton, where I started fishing the freshwater canals nearby for bluegill, bass, gar, and an assortment of other species.  My first saltwater experience was catching a Blackfin Tuna when I was 5.  It seemed like a whale compared to the fight of the bluegill, and I was hooked.  I got a job on the Fish City Pride headboat out of Pompano Beach while in high school, and worked and fished as much as my parents and teachers would allow.  I was a mate on the Fish City for 5 years, and a Captain for 1 after earning my 100 Gross Ton Master's License from the U.S. Coast Guard.  I fished (worked) on the weekends while in college earning my B.S. in Marine Science and Biology.  My Professors only passed me because I gave them fish.  They said I was using my powers for evil.  But they always accepted the fish!  One week after my graduation, I ran a boat from Florida to St. Thomas, USVI.  It was an amazing experience, and made me a much better fisherman.  From rigging baits to wiring marlin to washing the boat, my entire game improved.  I got a real job afterward as a dockmaster at a marina, but I had to be on the ocean.  I left the marina and joined Captain Rob Labar aboard the Tuna Time, and here I am today!  I enjoy fishing just as much as when I was a child, and I think that is apparent to everyone I fish with.  I hope to share the fun with you someday!

Tight Lines,

Captain J.J. Brodbeck

WELCOME ABOARD !
